Please follow these Campground Rules to help keep North of Highland safe and enjoyable for all of our guests.

FIRE SAFETY RULES:

Because our campground is nestled in a natural setting with pine trees and pine needles throughout it is especially important for all campers to carefully follow all of our campground rules related to fires.

  • NO BURNING of WOOD or PINE NEEDLES.

  • CHARCOAL FIRES, CAMP STOVES, LANTERNS, CAMP HEATERS, LIQUID TIKI TORCHES, and CANDLES are permitted but an ADULT must BE PRESENT AT ALL TIMES until they are fully extinguished.  You cannot leave the campsite until they are properly extinguished.

  • LANTERNS are allowed on the ground or on the picnic table, but CANNOT BE HUNG IN TREES or near tents, tarps or ropes.

    • Charcoal must be placed in a SOLID BOTTOM GRILL with legs.

    • The grill must be located on the GROUND in an area that has been CLEARED OF ALL PINE NEEDLES and FLAMMABLE MATERIAL

    • Charcoal can only be started with lighter fluid, NOT with TWIGS, PINE NEEDLES, PAPER or WOOD

    • Charcoal fire should be EXTINGUISHED by drowning with WATER while still in the grill until it is COLD to the touch, then it should be placed in a trash bag and be disposed of in the TRASH DUMPSTER.  Never dump charcoal on the ground or bury it.
